Fire fighters

７月に入ってあちらこちらで山火事が発生しています。この辺では特にレッドロッジスキー場近くの火事が大きく広がりつつあり、もう１マイル弱でスキー場に到達しそうだということです。山火事の消火にはいろいろな方法がありますが、その一つが空からの消火活動です。ビリングス空港には消防隊の飛行機が毎日発着しています。下の写真はその中の一つの飛行機です。ちょうど、飛び立つところに遭遇したので写真を一枚。

We have a lot wildfires in this area, and the one around Red Lodge is the biggest at this time. According to the news, the fire is close to the town of Red Lodge, less than one mile away. There are several ways to extinguish the fires, and one of them is to use airplanes. We saw some firefighter aircraft at Billings airport when we were driving past it, so we took some pictures.
